The same problem happened with my brother. He updated his WhatsApp and his mobile OS, but the problem still wasn’t resolved.
Here is the solution
Step 1
- Open your WhatsApp.
- Send yourself the wallpaper you want to set or change.
- Tap the wallpaper. At the top right > click the 3 dots.
- Tap on set as…
Step 2
Now select the wallpaper option and tap on Set Wallpaper.
This is a very easy and fast way to change any wallpaper on your chats if the wallpaper is not changing in WhatsApp settings.
